Swing; Out of the Dark #3

Swing oil on canvas 8x10 inches / 20x25 cm Sold Online Store I have been trying to get a good picture of this one it just isn't working, so this will have to do.  Photographer I am not, even tho I wish I was, the truth is that I am not very good at taking clear pictures, even after instruction.  Just as well, my passion is in paints, not photography.

Rain

This was really hard to do without masking tape...but when the idea strikes, you can't just go buy tape at 1am.  So I improvised and feel it turned out quite nice.  Like many of my paintings, this one takes on a new look as the light fades.  In an almost dark room, the squares take on a glazed window sheen, which is perfect since the idea is looking at the rain through a window. This particular painting was raffled off in a fund raiser for  Prader-Willi Syndrome  research .

Luminous; Out of the Dark

Online Store This is the new series I am working on, it allows me endless ideas to be applied whenever I feel the urge, allowing experimenting and surprising (impressive) results. Note; original photo quality was poor

Ash; Out of the Dark #1

Ash oil on canvas 8x10 inches / 20x25 cm Sold Online Store This was the first painting I did in the series "Out of the Dark".

So Small a Flower

I have had the canvas prepped for a few years now, just never put the intended flowers on.  However, I did so today. I named this painting after an Emily Dickinson poem -  "We should not mind so small a flower" We should Not Mind So Small a Flower by Emily Dickinson

A Place to Hide Treasure

I have dabbled a little over the last 2 yrs, more to just smell the paint, to visit an old friend. Picking a brush for the texture, spreading paint on the canvas like tracing the edge of a picture of someone you long to hug. We have settled ourselves into a beautiful city, and I have created a space to make it easier to paint. And I have been painting. The ideas are swimming in my head like a whirlpool of warm water - hey that could be something to paint...see? In the process I have been working on unfinished paintings, and creating some new ones.

Verdure; Clare Series #3

There is so much about this one that I love. Especially the little wisp at the center of the curl.

Radiance; Clare Series #2

This is the 2nd in a 3 part series called the Clare Series.  It was done 2 years after the first in the series was completed. When I painted this, I hadn't had much of an opportunity to paint and this was my way of "playing back into the process".
